Don't eat it! Iron is free radical. It has been linked to cancer. You must buy canned goods when they are recently canned. Especially those which are acidic. It may also be your pan . There is no way to actually remove the iron. You could mix it with something like marshmallows, jello or dream whip. Mix it with some orange jello.
Next time try to buy cranberies frozen in the bag or check the date on the can . The manufacturer will tell you how to read the date code. Just include it in an E mail. They might send you some coupons too.

Try using a different cooking vessel. If you're cooking it in uncoated aluminum cookware, it'll take on that taste.

Make sure you're using either coated (non-stick) cookware or brushed stainless steel.

If it's still tasting strange to you, try grating a bit of fresh orange zest into it while it's cooking... maybe about a teaspoon...

It's taking the flavour from the pan you are cooking it in.Don't use any aluminium pans either for cooking it or storing.Have you tried making it in the microwave?
