and also what's the brand "the latter"? what are some other great products that help volumize the hair b/c i have straight,smooth, fine hair that it's so hard for me to volumize it. I've tried bed head, big hair, herbal essences, just a lot of brands.

o.k. pomade is not used for volume. If anything, pomade is going to make your fine hair stick to your head. AVOID anything like pomade, or wax.. Your best bet is to use a mouse. It is specifically made to lift up your hair. Rub it down to the scalp while your hair is damp, and blowdry your hair. This will help alot! I love matrix products. And Amplify is made for fine hair. so look for amplify mouse
