I'm taking a trip to New York city in a week, and I need to find the cheapest hostel in Manhatten. I'm wanting to stay there for about 5 days give or take.

The rates are good, and the location is very convenient.
The Jazz hostel uptown has a location down on 14th Street - a much better location if they are the same price.
Columbus Studios on West 83rd Street is also very inexpensive.

Try Chelsea Star Hostel on 300 W. 30th in the heart of the city, its about $30 a night but its like the best Hostel ever!!! go to www.starhotelny.com

Jazz on Lenox is one of our newest hostels, built into a classic Victorian-style brownstone that has been fully renovated for your comfort.
This is one of the cheapest hotels in NYC. I don't know when you want it and the rates may change based on that.
