Well, I think this depends on the quality of a guy. A guy who is concerned about his status and masculinity will probably want a beautiful, dumber girl, because she will "make him look good" in public, and will not challenge his intelligence.
However, a guy who is secure with himself will definitely opt for an intelligent girl, even if that means average attractiveness - because he doesn't need to have "eye candy" to feel good about himself, and he'll love being able to talk deeply and be challenged by his partner.
What's more, he'll be more likely to treat a girl like a human being, since it's personality traits - like intelligence - which matter to him, rather than a body. I mean, it's a lot easier to hurt something you simply see as a body that's only there to increase your social status, than a real person with a real mind and heart.
It's kind of like guys who wonder why it seems like "nice guys always finish last" - but it's those nice guys who end up with the secure, confident girls who are really worth getting (rather than girls who need to feel validated by a "bad boy" who treats her with no respect).
So the question, I guess, isn't really what guys prefer - it's what you prefer in a guy! And yes, the good ones are probably a lot harder to find, especially because our whole society tends to be sexist and gives beauty more status than intelligence in women.

A lot of guys I know like me, I don't want to brag, but I am really really smart (Not to brag!
;-) ) and they also say I'm really pretty which I don't think is true... they druel all over me! Sort of strange... 2day at school they're like all over me asking me out! lol well what I would say is to be your best with everything you can do. If you aren't sure about your looks or smarts, hire someone to help you, or ask a close friend to help give you a "makeover" or something. Then if you doubt your smarts then ask your family for help with homework. You should get the hang of it!

Beautiful but dumb girls are for short flings & sex.
Average intelligence girls with street smarts are for okay dating.
Really smart women, who are strong, confident and powerful are for crushing out on and becoming involved with forever.

well not that I can speak for all men out there, but I would for sure say the personality is the main thing.Beauty first of is in the eye of the beholder and different opinion for everyone.Stupidity and ignorance is world wide looked at the same in most cases so I myself have always looked for the combo girls.Nothing is more un attractive in the long run then someone you can even have an intelligent conversation with.

I like the smart ones, she should be beautiful too though. And a nice voice that I enjoy hearing, women say like 20,000 words a day. Maybe a nice voice is most important.
