i just want to know exactly how to take care of a lip piercing...this will help me out a lot

Hiya!
Firstly wash it with a antibacterial soap which is not fragrances because it will hurt like hell! Then wash it out with salt water you can get a pre made one which i think is called H20, or mixed 1/2 a tsp of sea salt with a egg cup of water. Then hold this on your lip. Don't move the bar/ ring around when you do this because you are then passing dirt through it. But also be careful to use a mouth wash, diluted for the 1st couple of weeks but then straight because the majority of infections come from the inside of the mouth, and i know what it is like when it comes to fiddling with it! Continue doing this for at least 3 months after the piercing it will take 6 months to heal thou so don't change the ring. Also to ensure a happy healthy piercing on your first few changed go back to your piercing studio and ask them to change it for you- they will then auto clave it which heats it to a very high temperature and kills any germs. Try washing it with salt water it is the best thing to prevent infections, wash it salt water and cotton wool then twiddle your piercing so the salt gets into it, this may sting for a couple of seconds but you know it will be clean
