I love Angelina Jolie's tattoo of the cross on her stomach with the latin phrase "What nourishes me destroys me". I don't really understand what that means. Does anyone know?

It means: whatever she uses for pleasure or excitement and those emotions nourishes her, they can eventually destroy her. Too much of anything can.
She use to abuse herself, not only with drink and drugs but with knifes and pain.
To some people, that can be quite exciting but very dangerous.
I use to be that way too.

You would have to ask Angelina because tattoos are sooooo personal so, even if we explain the basic meaning it may not mean what it does to her.
She could be talking about her career... ? It Nourishes her and gives her life yet it takes so much away from her too.
So much of what is good and fun and pleasurable can also destroy you overall, you can crave freedom and living on the edge to feel alive and this can also kill you.
It could mean so many things to her, she's alot deeper than people realise.

i have that tattooed across my lower back!! (it's my favorite phrase, my motto, and comes from my favorite person!!)
it means... everything in your life that you love and care about... they can NOURISH you and protect and support and blah blah FOR YOU.... but they can also destroy you...
have you ever been betrayed by a family member or a friend? or just someone you thought you could trust?... yeah, it's kinda like that :)

yeah, she looks massively ultra-sexy with them tatoos, and her amazing figure too.
"What nourishes me destroys me" is probably a reference to what you enjoy the most are things that are bad for you

it means like what makes you feel good can also kill you.... too much of a good thing can sometimes hurt you .. something like that.. i.e.. like sex, drugs, or rock n roll mantra....
