It is 100% about the pronunciation!

The one you've been given, リセル / riseru, is based on the assumption that your name sounds like reese-ell. It's pronounced ree (like in reel) se (first syllable of seven) ru (to rhyme with sue,) both of the 'r's are pronounced somewhere between an r and an l.

If your name is pronounced rice-el, then it would become ライセル / raiseru. Pronounced more like Lie/Rye - se - ru (the se and ru are the same as before, and the 'Ry' bit is halfway between lie and rye.)

Japanese is all about pronunciation. If your name is pronounced Rai-cell it would be written as ライセル. If it is pronounced re-sell it would be pronounced リセル.

Answerer #4 says Jasmine, not Rycel.

Without knowing how to *pronounce* it, it cannot be accurately written in Japanese. Japanese syllabaries work phonetically.

Well..hmm....it would make no sense changing the way your name is said. It is said the same no matter what language. Take care.
