Congratulations on the new family member! You can go to www.littlebigcat.com and read Dr. Jean Hovfe's article titled, "How to Care for Your New Kitten". It is one of about sixty articles on cat care, diet, diseases and behavior.
There is a wealth of information. You can choose the articles that cover things you may want to know about now - vaccinations, diet, how to choose a good commercial food etc.

DON'T DECLAW!!
That's amputating the top knuckle of his toes. It's cruel and unnecessary unless there's a good medical reason. Even if you do the laser option then it's causing a huge amount of pair the the cat. Imagine someone removing your nails and then laseringg them... Not nice, huh?
. It's illegal in the UK, God knows why it's not in US - cause it's only of benefit to the owners who want a "perfect pet". It's selfish and cruel.
Poor wee kittens. People are horrible and selfish and I'm disgusted that someone gave you such outdated advice!.

Kittens are cheap dates. It doesn't take much money to keep them amused. Do you have an empty cardboard box? He'll probably love getting into it. I have no clue why empty boxes are so amusing to them but they love it. Get some catnip. A mouse on a string does wonders. A ball with a bell in it will drive him nuts.

Make sure he's been neutered! Else he may start spraying around the house - not a nice smell to come home to.

Don't let them outside to drop their 'mess' on other peoples gardens. What right have cat owners got to let their cats mess on other peoples property? Disgusting!!
