Here lately, it has been traffic stops. There have been quite a few officers shot while making routine traffic stops.
Once you put on the uniform and go on duty, everything becomes dangerous. Nothing is routine. Narcotics, firearms, alcohol, and stupidity are equally dangerous. Mix any of these together, and it becomes a volatile situation. Then the police show up.
It is only by the grace of God that we don't lose more officers than we do.

I know the ones they hate responding to the most, because of the unknown and the fact that more cops are hurt/killed than any other, is domestic violence.
That said, the most dangerous, based on likelihood of death, would be airplanes flown into skyscrapers.

2 types, the common one, Domestic Violence. Alot of times, if a police officer starts getting in the middle of a fight, it can easily cause BOTH parties to turn on him to protect their significate other. Yes, the one they were just in the middle of hitting, or getting hit by.
The uncommon one would be EOD, Bomb Squad, for pretty obvious reasons.

The crime of Domestic Violence, spousal abuse & elder
abuse are the worst of the worse! In many cases both, or
all parties then turn on the police, who they feel are inter-fering in their "personal" affairs, whether criminal or not!!

Some of the drug gangs.A 13 year old boy would shoot a cop without thinking.They go to great legnths to protect their product and turff. Plus they don't want to go to jail.

Drugs...Drug dealers (especially the top dog) know if they get caught they will get a long long time in jail (at least 25 years or more) so they'll just get in a shoot out and be killed rather then go to jail...

For their personal safety it would be domestic assault. Tempers are flared & anything can happen when the officer tries to seperate the parties.

IMHO it would have to be domestic violence. You never know what might happen on this type of call.
