The harm of religion is subjective and varies widely; the harm of smoking is a documented fact and doesn't change as you change brands of cigarettes. But I don't see why atheist groups can't advertise.

If you've got the money and you can find people willing to run these ads, then I'm sure you could make them. The problem you might run into is an econmic one. So many people hold religion in high regard, that few businesses would be willing to risk their profits by running your ads.

Of course, if you are independently wealthy, you can buy your own billboards (you might have to contend with city council) or even your own TV station, but then again, how many people would watch your ads in that case, anyway?

So then you can probably make any ads you like. Getting people to actually spend time watching them might be the tricky part.

I think no one could stop you from posting anti-religion ads, go ahead. Or do you expect the authorities to post them? In that case you first should prove that religion seriously affects your health. If you go for mental health, you might have a case.

That is probably not far away. If nativity scenes can be banned in Boston, then TV should be able to run anti-religious ads. The world is going to hell in a hand basket.

anti-smoking ads are for the physical health of the public.
atheist ads would be racists towards religious peoples. How would you like an ad on tv that said your faith was wrong? It's religiously racist

Too bad it won't change the Truth of the Bible with 2000 prophesies being fulfilled. In fact you're one of them.

No reason not to, if someone will pay for them. But I think it would be a waste of money -- reason is seldom applied to religion.

There is no reason why there couldn't be... but do you really want to go swinging a bat near that hornets nest? I certainly wouldn't. The grassroots movement seems to be snowballing lately, i say stick with what works.
