when I use add/remove programmes I keep getting a message, " you need Microsoft Windows installer......." when I press yes it comes back with ,"setup was unable to update the MSI system componant", without giving any options for disks etc;

Go to the Norton website and download the removal tool, this works on pre installed software. Just done it a few weeks ago and installed AVG free instead

As arvind said, install Norton 2005 again, there will be option to uninstall

U should be able to go to control panel and select remove/add programs and select this from the list.
An alternative is to go to the program list and go to Norton, you mmight be able to uninstall this from here

Search the norton site - you can download an uninstaller for all norton apps.

You could delete the file in program files or use add/remove programs on control panel.

Crapcleaner can remove applications as well as other rubbish.

use your mothereboard CD to install it again. before installing it will uninstall the previous one. take the CD out while in reinstalls,

on your contol panel, find ADD/REMOVE programmes, go down the list and click un install and it should be removed.
