Boyfriends (or girlfriends) sometimes lie out of fear or to cover their tracks. In either case, when it comes to relationships the underlying motive is never good . A relationship that isn't built on trust is doomed to fail. You need to decide whether or not this relationship is worth your time and effort if you know your boyfriend is lying to you.

For the same reason girls lie to their boyfriends. Because they have something to hide.
You don't mention what he lied about. Was it serious? Or does he lie about anything and everything?
