I was just wondering who else gets as big a kick as I do out of giving your dog(s) Christmas presents and watching them go nuts. Mine opens his own, then when he gets the new toy, he runs around like a lunatic for like 20 minutes non stop, then he sits there and pants like he just ran a marathon. We laugh our butts off at this every year. It's great.

all you have to do is say "grandma" and mine is looking out the window to see if she's coming. He talks to her on the phone too.

My Lab is my son and is treated that way and acts that way too. He actually gets very upset when I even hold a child or another animal. He gets birthday parties and has a Christmas just like everyone else. He opens his presents and does the same thing your dog does, runs around like crazy and he will show everyone his new toys. I love it and love seeing him happy. He does not touch the other dogs presents but will steal them later. He does not share well, he has the only child syndrome. It is a great thing and they know.

My dog is hilarious at christmastime! She's really small so she doesn't open her own gifts, but we now put them in a stocking and let her go to town. My dog is in love with catnip, so every year I get her a catnip toy and she runs crazy around the house with it in her mouth, running up and down the stairs and through the hallways with it. After about 5 minutes of this, she runs back downstairs and drinks a full bowl of water. LOL! The joys of dog parenthood.

My family always does presents for our pets. Our rottie isn't as interested in tearing into anything as she is that the whole family is sitting on the floor (once we're at her level, it's all over, she is in your lap demanding to be petted at ONCE). My in-laws also do christmas presents for the dogs, although I think it's more practical things (a new bed, a new leash, etc.). I used to have two cats, and they would get catnip-filled mice as presents each year. One would just rub on the package, the other would bat it around the room until the paper died, heh.

we do too, our dogs gifts get wrapped in tissue paper and they have always known which gifts are for them and love to open them. then they get the new toy and just want to go off and play until they relieze there are more presents for them to open still!!

we even have pictures of our former dog (deceased almost 4 years now) after she had opened up a new squeeker sneaker, and she wouldnt put it down, so its in all of the pics of her that christmas.

this will be our new pups first xmas. i hope she's as excited as we are, but she loves new toys so i'm sure she will do just fine. :)

i wish mine would open their own like yours. mine just look at me as if to say hurry the hell up and so i do. i give them their new bone or toy and they run away to bury it in the carpet. the best part is when they leave it sitting in the middle of the floor in plain view but they think they've done a super job hiding it.

Yes, I give my dogs gifts also. Two out of the three opens their gifts. They can be very smart if they are taught. I had a dog if you spelled certain words he knew what you meant. For an example... spell c-a-n-d-y, he'd nose the candy dish, i-c-e he'd go to the freezer, w-a-l-k, he'd go to the door, p-a-r-k- he'd jump around like he was crazy (loved going to the park) k-i-s-s, of course he'd give you a kiss. This very intelligent dog was taken from me by way of cancer and I miss him terribly.

My dog " Snappy" gets more presents than anybody. I wrap them up in wrapping paper and on Christmas morning he shreds them to pieces . His gifts include treats, toys, blankets (fleece ones of course) and anything else I think he may like. I love him more than life itself. I cant imagine life without him . He's my everything and I'm his person!!!!

My family always gets Christmas gifts for the pets. I'm not sure our dog appreciates the gifts as much as yours does, but she certainly seems to enjoy the attention!

I get a kick out of it! I don't have any kids, just pets, and we always get the dogs a bag full of stuffed animals to kill! It's so fun to watch THEM having fun!
