you are right, we should definitely do this. the best way is by raising the gas tax and using the proceeds to put up windmills on farms and schools

You asked "can you organize ..."
Are you asking me specifically, or are you asking a general "can it be done" question?

If the former, probably not; at least not right now. I personally don't have the resources.

If you are asking the later, well, it's already being done. I live in Ontario and the goverment of Ontario has been running ads about alternative energy for months. Of course, Ontario is already less than a 1/3 dependant on coal-fired electrical plants. We use extensive hydro power (turbines run by water power) and nuclear power. In fact, we sell our excess electricity production to neighboring states and provinces.

As for farmers, a lot of farmers already have windmills and have been using them for local use for decades. This is especially true in the prairie states & provinces. My grandfather had one on his farm. More farmers are allowing "windmill farms" (where multiple windmills are installed to be harnassed, and sell power to, the electric grid). So, they know. In a lot of states, farmer education programs are organized though the state university extension program.

Oh, and "Earth Day" is essentially an annual media event to educated the general public on this very topic.

Renewable energy is not just for those who are concerned about global warming. It can also be for those who want a better residential investment

The key to bringing renewable energy to suburban America is to communicate the concept of how progressive technology combined with innovative architectural design can provide a lower monthly cost of ownership. For example, most people finance their home through a mortgage. If you design a house that will reduce your monthly utility bills by $150 while only increasing your monthly mortgage payment by $50 dollars, you will save money from the day you move in, although your home actually costs more. It’s all about combining the best design practices with sound financial strategies. Check out zeroenergy.com
