Hi, I am 16 years old and for my birthday I decided to have something different done to my hair. So I had it cut (I love how it is cut) and highlighted (full head) anyway it turned out awlful. I wanted it to be a nice blonde but it looks white although everyone says it doesn't and my dad says it's lovely. I am really upset though because one of the girls at my school said my hair looked greay and another said I looked like her nan. I am so upset what should I do? please give me some advice I don't want to leave the house. Oh and I really don't want it dark cos it looks awlful and doesn't suite me. Thankyou everyone.

Go back to the stylist/salon where you had it down and ask for their advise. They will be able to help you. Don't let some girl at your school determine how you look. Listen to your family and close friends. And remember, highlights and your hair will grow out.

In the meantime you could buy a wig to cover it but I would go back to the person who highlighted it and "demand" help.

Oh dear, poor you. I have had my fair share of hair disasters so I know how you feel! ( I still cringe when I remember the awful perm I had to go to school with...!)

If you paid that much for it then I suggest that you go back to the salon who did the original colour. They will be more than happy to help you sort it out - they want happy customers after all.

If its gone grey then I guess you had an ash blonde colour put on it. this is the same colour that I use and because its ashy rather than yellow blonde it can sometimes look too grey when its first coloured.

I assure you that the grey tones eventually wash out and you are left with light blonde hair. It may just be that you are not used to it so thats why it looks weird on you!

Ignore the girls at school. If you have a new snazzy hair cut and a good colour she is probably jealous!

Give your hair a good few washes - Head and Shoulders normal stuff is good for getting colour out of hair. Give it a couple of washes, and I'm sure that it will be looking more normal in no time!

Let us all know how you get on. And good luck!

I'm assuming you got it bleached?

After you have bleached the hair, if you want it to go blonde then you need to put a toner in it to make it go blonde - sounds like the hairdresser didn't do that properly, so I suggest putting a new blonde hair dye in. I got streaks in my hair bleached a while back - they told me that if I dyed my hair black it would go green but since then I have dyed my hair black, red, and a shade of brown, but have had no problems - each time when the hair dye washes out it goes back to the original blonde streaks. I'd consult your hairdresser though, because it does sound like something went wrong on their behalf. If you got it done at a reputable hairdressers, if you are really unhappy then they will re-do it for you within the same week or so.

If you decide to dye your own shade of blonde [with a hair dye out of the box] (which is what I recommend) then perhaps consult a different hairdresser just in case? Sometimes if your hair is really thin and damaged it can take to bleach differently, but I don't know what your hair is like so I can't help you with that, as it just depends on the person.

I hope it all works out for you, good luck!

I bet that it doesn't look as bad as you think......"you" are "your" biggest critic! It's possible that you just haven't gotten used to the color or perhaps it's just not what you had in mind. You could go back to the salon and ask if they could add a few different shades of darker blondes and light browns into your hair, it is like reverse highlighting. It will add more subtle tones back into your hair and will probably look great! I have had to do this before and it looked amazing. I was very pleased with the results. You should try this if you want an easy fix. :)

DONT do any more desirable bleaching. As you're burned attempt a red shampoo like galvanize contact of Silver, two times a week brightening shampoo. It turns bleached virgin hair white. Then condition with a similar kind of conditioner. this is affordable and accessible at Sally's and Ive seen it at Asda. There are different manufacturers of red shampoos too if this one isnt accessible like shimmer light fixtures. As your hair is fairly porous now from bleaching it may take in the red too a lot that you dont want, only wash in the galvanize and wash out right now. If its no longer white note back, leave a minute or so. do this till white. It very last 2 to three days then you actually want to bathe back. Use a protien or keratin reconstructor for breakage. Ion reconstructor at sallys yet intense st keep manufacturers have them now too. you ought to have used a toner like guidelines white toner or Wella white female with a low quantity developer once you receive to a diminished yellow. in case you employ toners keep on with the teachings precisely because such bleached hair is very porous and may take in too most of the violet or blue which takes days to bathe out.

If you're not happy with the outcome of the colour then they should offer a service to correct it. If you asked for a blonde and it's come out white, then they haven't done what you asked them to do.

If you've only recently had it done, then it might be that you're still adjusting to it and you might get used to the colour.

If you do go back, ask them to add some darker shades of blonde in and maybe some light brown just to even it out and take it down a few shades.

You're 16!! The more time you spend dying it and highlighting it, the more damage you'll do..the worse it will become if you don't take care of it. All you can do is go to a different stylist and ask them to fix it. Find a different by referral, ask someone who would recommend a good stylist. But don't do it yourself!!

i wouldn't worry about it too much.. asking people their opinions is just the first mistake... let it grow out don't waste your money.. you never know you might end up liking it in a couple days.. we girls change our minds all the time why can't you change yours about this.. and just since you did something different might be the problem.. you were used to your old secure hairstyle and color.. now it's new... nothing is certain on if everybody who says they like it... actually does like it.. all i am saying is give it time.. and give it a chance!

Get Low lights, it will add more depth to your hair. It will look nice and natural. You can do thi at home with a boxed kit, but i recommend going to a salon. You should probably get two diferent colors in low lights. One that is one-two shades darker than your hair now, and one that is three - four shades darker. Good luck!
