Personally, I hope very soon. When 40% of your employees are illegal......there's obviously a problem. Not to mention they were pre-warned about the raid.
There were arrests....just in.

As long as the human resources department has an I9 (employment verification form) on file and filled out completely- for every employee removed from the premises, Swift will face no charges. Of course I9's are by law supposed to be completed by everyone hired in the United States. link to form below-

On another note- if Swift was notified to release these individuals because of their ssn# status and didn't then they will be paying some nasty fines and will more than likely have their entire payroll dept audited.
However if I was working at Swift in the HR department from now on, I would validate social security #s prior to hire.
The site administered through the Social Security Administration is really very new. According to the SSN Admin's user guide to the site- an employer who discovers via this site that the employee's ss# doesn't match what is on file with the SSN Admin does not have the right to terminate said employee's employment because of information provided by this site.
I kid you not- I have my own account and id, because I handle HR.

Approximately 1200 illegal aliens were arrested.
I too feel that the owners/CEOs/human resources should be arrested.They also were committing a felony.I would want to see them charged also.One reason that the ICE etc raided this company was the high number of no match letters sent by the Social Security office.I know that the company had to know their status when they hired them or simply ignored it.I am anti illegal but I am also anti any company that circumvents our federal laws .
Prosecute the employers too.They are criminals in the eyes of the laws of this nation

they are after the big wheels this time the kingpins in the ham dept so they will deport the poor folkes that spent a huge price to come here and the have to start over and the man in the tie with the manicure didnt even stroll out of his golf course condo check for rain

It's hard to prosecute these cases because the owners have to confess they knew they were hiring illegal aliens. Owners will never do that, instead they will blame the minimum wage officer worker. Cases like this are usually handled by hefty administrative fines.

It's great...they should fine the company owners who are making huge profits by paying illegals half of what they would normally pay...they need to strip them of their licenses and hand out huge fines so they know that they won't profit from hiring illegals.

The company owners said they didn't know the people were illegals. They did use false id's. I'm not sure if I buy it though.
