Why do people ride your bumper period? I have a sign that I am going to suction cup to my rear window that says "If You're Going To Ride My A**, You Might As Well Kiss It!", what do you think? People seem to be in such a hurry these days, and why are the cops not around when you need them, meaning when someone is driving like a total idiot, and believe me, Central Texas has their share of idiot drivers out there!

Here are a few reasons:
1) The people have just merged two lanes to get over to the exit and are flying at like 70 and have to nail their brakes so they end up right behind you.
2) The person exiting is lost and looking for directions so they are not sure to turn right or left thus go slower and slower.
3) The light at the end of the ramp is green yet the slow person does 25-30 and causes us to miss the light.
4) The ramp says 45 and they do 25
5) There is a curve and they slow to almost a crawl to come around it, when having a small amount of handling skills will allow someone to enter at 30 and exit at 40-45 if they operated the car properly (brake at the turn, take turn, accelerate halfway out of turn)
Now if you are talking about them being on the highway with you while you are trying to get off and they continue on, then this applies:
1) Again they flew into your lane, their exit is next and you are slowing to get off.
2) You apply your brakes while ON THE HIGHWAY, prior to the exit ramp. That is dangerous as you are causing backup now. The exit ramps are designed so that you can slow down to a reasonable speed on the ramp once you are in the safety zone of the actual ramp and not the highway lane.
3) You are not getting off in the appropriate area, in other words, the lane starts to split for an exit, and you continue on until almost the last point before turning off.
4) As was mentioned on other questions, there was a guy in the left lane going 45 and you jump to the right to go around him, and once you are off, he can continue his right hand pass and move along.
5) The exitting driver is unsure of the exit and if it is correct, the right way, etc. Therefore he slows and slow without realizing it and then he is doing 40 in the right lane (not even the speed limit) and still has not made the turn for the exit.

People never ride my bumper when I am exiting a highway. I drive so fast they can't keep up. Try it and you will see what I mean.

Because a lot of people start to slow down on the freeway to exit, but you should only slow down when you are on the exit ramp, not the freeway. Same goes for merging onto the freeway. You should speed up before entering the freeway to the point of matching the speed of the traffic on the freeway or even a little faster, because you can slow down faster to merge than speed up to merge. Irratating when people don't know the meaning of merge.

Well it could be because you are driving to slow if it happens let them pass. It also could be a cop (police officer)
