If it's homemade and already cooked, your'e TOTALLY CORRECT! That way the flavors settle in it and it tastes MUCH better. Serve it with tortilla chips and shredded cheddar cheese.

Chili can sit up to 4 days as long as you put it in there just after you finished cooking it. It can be frozen up to 3 months but be sure it is cooled before putting it in the freezer and make sure, in either case it is in a tightly sealed container. Leftover chili is the best, better than the first day.

Chili can last in fridge for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. If you just want it to thicken then an hour will do it, but it will probably get loose again after you heat it up.

If you are developing flavor I think two days is perfect. I wouldn't keep it much longer than that in the fridge. Put it in the freezer.
