Both love and sex. Love intimacy is having a passion for your mate. Understanding them both mentally and physically. Sharing thoughts, and conversation. Sex is when you both know eachother's body well, and knwo how to please eachother! F*ucking eachother really good, basically!

Sex alone isn’t intimacy, even animals do this but they don’t become “intimate” with each other. Real intimacy involves sharing one’s life at a level you don’t share with anyone else. In a word “fidelity” is essential for intimacy.

Not just that. Passion, indulgence, sharing sentiments in a romantic way. When you're with your husband or wife, laying on the conjugal bed, whispering I love you, and touching each other ever so gently, and feeling in heaven, and not wanting to give that up for the world, that's intimacy.

it's an emotional connection sure often accompanied by a physical connection but i personally think that in order to be intimate and not just physical you need to involve emotion
