Yes, I do believe there is a God, and I spent most of my life believing just the opposite. I believe that something far greater than "us" exists, but I'm not ready to call it the Christian God, or Allah, or any other such name. I prefer to see it as a benign, loving entity. That's the best I can do right now.

Absolutely not.
God is a creation of Man, to explain away the things that science has not yet found answers for.
Let's not forget, until we have made various discoveries, there have been some pretty silly ideas out there. Several of them were fully embraced by various churches around the world; some of those churches even went so far as to label people as insane or as heretics if they advanced "other" theories.
Such as...
The Earth is flat.
The Earth is the center of the universe.
Fire is magic.
Thunder and lightning are mystical forces.
Wind is the breath of a god.
Rain are the tears of a god.
I think it's pretty clear that, once we are able to prove the mechancis of something with science, we no longer need any gods to explain them.

God is a religious concept, so there cannot be a "non-religious" god. If you are speaking of something else, then you should not call it a god, this name is already reserved by religious people. So, give your idea a different name, tell us what you are speaking of, and then we can tell you if we believe in it.

God, in a non-spiritual sense, is seen as a creator. The big band, caused by the concept of singularity had to have a creative force to enable the bnang to occur. Physics and chemistry could not have determined their purposes in the universe if it were not directed by some sort of creator.

...How is it possible to think of a God without thinking of religion? Religion created "God".
But to answer your question, in the correct way? I don't know.
And neither does anyone else.

Yes, I believe in a Creator. Nature screams of design, and hence there must be a designer.
However, I believe there is no evidence in, and thus I disbelieve in, the theory that the Creator is active in the Universe today. I believe that the Creator respects our Free Will, for why would It create our Free Will if It meant to not give us full use of it?

As science advances, we explain more and more...god becomes a god of the gaps, to explain what we currently do not know ..then the gap is eventually filled.
So no..I do not believe in a god, even as a "first cause"
