I am a UK immigration officer, and from my experience, it depends on various factors. How long have you been in the UK, what have you done since you have been in the UK, have you commited any offences etc.... It should take around 3-4 months.

Good luck

It can take a few months. This visa renewal business is never fast.
But having to said that, I have to tell you that you can not switch from Working Holiday visa to HSMP in UK, so you have to go back to your country in the end of your visa to do it. And in HSMP scoring system, your earning has to be in the top 10% of the country in which you have been working for the last 12 months, so in the case of UK. it's got to be 26k+.
The income is not the only thing that gives you points, but it certainly does give you a lot. And you've been in UK only for 3 months now, and although I am not sure how long your Working Holiday visa is valid for, it seems to me that it's better to work a bit longer on your current status to gain more experience (because that can give you ponts too) and try to increase your income.
If you still want to try HSMP now, I suggest you to speak to immigration lawyers about it and ask their opinions. Also, check Home Office and UK visa's site before you do anything else. Good luck.

As proof, were proof needed, on the dumbness at the Home Office, even the immigration offcer here could not answer the question.

Ifyou are working for one of the big IT recruitment agencies, spent 15 years myself in IT recruitment, their HR or Business department will assist you with all of this.
