Ive already gone through the interview process for another force and the interviewing officer said that I seemed nervous and I shouldn't have been! Anyways, should I be more cocky? I dont really know what they want. Im super confident so thats definately not a problem. Anyways enough rambling, any tips from hired officers would be greatly appreciated.

The interview can definitely be stressful. Don't answer the question with a response that you think they want to hear. Answer honestly. If they ask "what would you do if someoone assalted your girlfriend?", you need to say "I'd kick his ***!". Don't respond with "I would restrain him and call the proper authorities". You probably get the idea. We had an interview where the applicant was asked "What would you do if you caught someone having sex with a chicken?" He responded "Is the chicken dead or alive?" He was hired!

LOL Don't be afraid to drink the water they provide you with at the orals. Seriously!!!! You will generally see a pitcher of water there at the table you sit at....and it is there for a reason. Some people think that it is there to test whether you drink it or not and how you handle stress....but that isn't the case. It is there because they KNOW it is a stressful thing and you just may need to take a drink...I DID!!! And, the HR/Officer that was there to greet me and direct me into the room told me that himself. :)

Other than that......I would recommend being totally consistant with your answers. You will probably find they will ask you the same questions in different wording later on in the process to see if you are consistant. JUST BE CONSISTANT!!! :)

The worst thing you can do is start to answer before the question is finished give it a few seconds and think what has been asked some thought definitely don't go in there cocky, short and concise answers and you can do it I'm sure.

Answer honestly. Any question they may ask they may already know the answer & could be testing you to see if you're honest enough to tell the truth.

Don't be cocky. If you're cocky they're not going to want to give you a gun with an attitude.
