it isn't.
in fact, too many studies exist to show that it isn't a choice.
but apply the simple, reverse logic.
do you know any straight guys who just woke up one day and decided "hey, ya know what? i have a desire to start making out with guys and having their genitals in my mouth, but today I will CHOOSE not to act on my strong homosexual urges and today, I choose to be straight."
nope. it doesn't happen.
and that same "choice" doesn't occur with gays, either. you cannot choose which sex you are attracted to. Nor do guys who, for example, find really fat women attractive make that "choice". you don't just go out and "decide" or "choose" what things you will find attractive in other people! it's impossible! you don't "decide" that. all people are attracted to different types of people! do you think that some day you could just be attracted to someone as facially unattractive as Barbara Bush, or as fat as Roseanne Barr? unless you already are attracted to those types, you just can't make the choice to suddenly find them attractive and be "turned on" by them, because that's what you decided to do.
there are MANY different types of attractions that the majority of us find "odd" or "weird" that people would find attractive. some people, for example, are attracted to people who are amputees. weird huh? yeah, it is very different, very unusual. but, do you think it's a CHOICE? of course not. people cannot control what they find attractive...you cannot control that feeling in your gut when you see someone that is incredibly, immensely attractive, regardless what others may think of that attraction, or how "normal" that attraction may be to others in society. and just because it doesn't fall under the Bell Curve for the typical percentile of attractions that most people have, it doesn't make it wrong. and it doesn't suddenly make it a conscious choice just because most others don't have those same kinds of feelings or attractions.
it's a ridiculous notion!! and there is nothing to support the suggestion that it's a choice. but, then again, there are a lot of mindless, ignorant people who have a bible crammed up their hoochie. just read on for a few choice examples of a complete lack of intelligence and logic... Cheers!

For those of you who are saying that homosexuality is a choice, here is a challenge:
Pick a person of the same sex, any person in particular, like a celebrity, friend, etc.
Within a week, develop an attraction to them. Not just a "hey, he's a good looking guy" attraction, but a sexual attraction.
You don't have to be gay to say that someone of the same sex is attractive or good-looking.
But take up my challenge and then tell me that homosexuality is a choice.

Think on their own. How prophetic.
Gays are not born that way.
It is a psychological aspect of the brain. If receptors in the brain like it endorphins are released.
If it doesn't then it will not be liked.
It is the same with food, alcohol and exercise to name a few.
It can be changed, yes.
Read some psychology books, especially on endorphine release. You may think a little differently.

I, personally imagine, that the Apostle Paul, sums it up extremely properly, in connection with the church club at Corinth. right here, Paul, makes a very pointed fact at the same time as he addressed the concern of a fellow Christian taking yet another Christian brother right into a courtroom of regulation. In financial ruin 6, of First Corinthians, verse 9, Paul lists the sins which may reason a Christian to omit out on the dominion of God. protected is a connection with "homo sexual" practices re, "abusers of themselves with guy type". ... And it is the clincher: study in the first part of verse 11, "And such were a number of you"... The note "homo sexual" fairly comes from the Latin note "homo" meaning, "guy". the point being made by using Paul is not only, homo sexual enactments will ward off someone from getting access to the dominion of God yet so will intense ingesting, fornication, and so on., and so on. it really is constructive very extraordinary how sex sins are continuously the single ingredient commonly centred on by using society. Lieing, stealing, and so on. are only as undesirable ... and maximum persons do lie or maybe, covet.

I am of the view that 85-95% of homosexual behavior is chosen and not biologically inherent. That said I do believe there are people who truly fit a criterion of homosexuality either through an etiological hormonal imbalance or some physical condition (as in hemaphroditis).
The majority of people that call themselves homosexuals are products of feminism in our society. Either men who have men made effeminate, or women who have been masculized because of parenting and social influences.
Truly in my view as an agnostic, religion has little to do with it. The OT testament and Paul's letters to the Romans see homosexuality as sinful, (ie, It is wrong to lay with a man as you would a woman.) The biblical "law" in Leviticus, was Judaic law, as the result of several things, Judaic law was partly a "moral code" and partly a "health code". Paul's letters are extensions of that.
What I rail against as far as the "gay/lesbian" movement is that they seem to what some elevation because of their "condition".. They want to be deemed as a "special" privileged group.
A person is a person, man, woman, white, black, brown, red, old, young. I don't differentiate, however when any "group" sees fit to have power it is because they want something from others AS a GROUP.
Being gay is a behavior the person DOES. and is not the identity.

I'm a Christian, and I'm pretty sure it's not just a choice. Using common sense, I just can't figure out how someone can choose to be attracted to a particular sex. It wasn't my choice to be attracted to women. I can't imagine choosing something else on a whim. You would have to have that hard wired into you, probably from the start.
Just my opinion.

Why do you want scripture excluded ? Do you only want certain answers from certain people ?
A true Christian is a person whose thoughts and feelings are guided by the principles of the Bible. Opinions are compared with the standard of moral excellence revealed in the scriptures.
If my opinion as a person, harmonizes with God's opinion as revealed in Scripture, will you accept it ? What about tolerance ?
According to the Bible, it is a choice which leads to an act. The act not the actor is condemned in scripture.
Christians are being asked to accept an act which God condemns.
If God is correct and human beings are by nature depraved and selfish, is human reasoning alone sufficient to discern any potential moral impact of homosexuality and lesbianism ?
Can we expect unselfish, clear, elevated thinking from those who reject the opinion of God who has a mind of supreme moral excellence ?
The only reason to not want an answer from scripture is to remove the moral implications of the act as indicated by God. it is the deep depravity of human nature that God points out and that human beings overlook that makes it hard to understand why someone would choose these acts.
Here is the reality of the present homosexuality issue...
Those who believe that the Bible is God's word and that God is the Creator know that God pre-programmed the heterosexual orientation of human beings when He created them and endowed them with the freedom to choose their life partner.
Those who do not believe this, have a different view which states that some human beings are born with homosexual or lesbian tendencies and cannot help themselves.
It comes down to who or what each person chooses to believe.

I feel that a VERY SMALL percentage of people are born with physical imbalances that make them gay. It is only my opinion that most of the gay population ( especially the one's that show alot of anger, defiance, and rebellion ) were not born that way. family stucture, society influences, sexual abuse in younger years, etc make up the bigger percentages. nowadays people want us to believe they were born gay, just to justify their own choices.

Why are you so sure it is NOt a choice?
Scripture says it is a choice , just like abortion, drugs, prostitution, adultery, or any other sin.
