It kind of came natural to my kitties... Make sure they can see their mother using the litter box. When they see/ smell what she does in the litterbox they should get the idea.

Your cat does not simply need a litter box - she needs a clean litter box with fresh litter. Your cat will be inhibited from using her litter box if it smells of urine. Think about it from the cat's viewpoint. When she soils your dining room carpet, the area is immediately and thoroughly cleaned. Given the choice between a regularly cleaned place and a litter box that gets changed only once or twice a week, your cat will naturally prefer the carpet.

The litter box must be cleaned daily. The old litter must be discarded and replaced with about 1 1/2 inches of fresh litter. Rinse the litter box thoroughly with water. Adding a little vinegar or lemon juice to the water will help neutralize the odor of the cat's urine. Do not use ammonia; this will make the litter box smell worse.

Make sure that the litter box is in an appropriate place. Cats do not like to soil the areas close to their sleeping or eating areas, so place the litter box some distance away. However, do not place the litter box in an area that is too inaccessible. For example, if the litter box is placed in the bathroom, make sure the door cannot swing shut preventing the cat from getting to it. If the cat is new to your home, she may go into hiding for a few days so place a litter box close to her hiding place.

Some additional factor may be inhibiting your cat from using her litter box, so put down an extra one in a different location. If there is more than one cat in the house, have several litter boxes available.

IT should be a natural instinct, I started with a very small litter box and not alot of litter about 1 inch of it I also provided a book for a step up to it if it seemed high for the kittens, once they go in the litter box or mom does, they can smell it and go to it straight away. I had one that got confused about it and used the kitten chow bowl at about 4 weeks and we had to show her that the poop goes in the kitty litter and she eats the food and not the otherway around. ha ...

I have always put my kittens in a clean litter box and would actually take their paw and "show" them what to do. The kitten will probably jump right out of the litter box but you should only have to show them once. This has always worked for me. Good luck with your new babies!

My kittens all learned either from their mother of from one of the other cats how to use the box. If that doesn't work or mama does not use the box, then bring some of her doo in and put it in the litter box. When the kittens smell the odor they will start to use the box then.

Just put them in the litter box and leave them, as they will probably jump out, but you may have to leave them in the same room with the door closed for a couple of days. Cats and Kittens like to cover up their poo so they won't just go anywhere...

Litter-training a kitten is pretty simple, usually as easy as just picking them up and putting them in the tray, and maybe taking one of their paws and showing them how to dig.

Now, since these kittens are so tiny, you might want to use something like a painter's tray so it will be less intimidating to the wee ones. Another thing that would help would be if you find they've pooped outside the tray, and you pick it up and drop it in so they will see that's where it belongs.

Once they get bigger, you can introduce them to the full-sized boxes.

Good luck!

Cats using the litterbox is a natural instinct. They have a natrual instinct to cover up there waste. The mother should be starting to teach the babies soon. Just make sure that the litter box is low enough to the ground so that the babies can climb in. Merry Christmas

You simply put them in the litter box, take their little paw and scratch the surface of the litter with it to show them how to dig. Thats it-they usually figure it out if u just do that.

If you have other cats they will learn even quicker...
