zipp is right. If your PC only boots in safe mode, you have other problems then trying to install a game. Safe mode isn't made to run applications. It is just a troubleshooting mode to help fix problems.

Although there is no way to disable safe mode, you need to find a way to boot normally. And if your PC only puts you into safe mode, then most likely it's because your boot.ini file has been modified to only boot your PC into safe mode. Try running virus and spyware/malware scans in safe mode BEFORE you try to change the boot.ini file.

If all else fails, your boot.ini file located on the root of your C: drive and is a protected file that does not show up when you browse your C: drive. The only way to view it is to enable the showing of protected operating system files. You do that under tools, folder options, view.

You have a line in your boot.ini file that tells the PC which disk and partition to boot, and which OS. The line normally looks something like this :

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

If the last words in that line say "Safe Mode" then your PC will always boot in safe mode no matter what. You might try to remove the safe mode part and then your PC will try to boot normally.

Be aware that if you screw this up, your PC might not boot at all. Even if you save the boot.ini file to an alternate location, which I suggest that you do, it is not easy to restore it.

If this line was modified by your OS or malware/viruses, then as zipp said you've got much bigger fish to fry. Try everything in your power to get rid of whatever is plaguing your system.

It depends on how you got your windows in to that, and above answers might be just what there is. Though, I would try pressing F2 or F8 key at start up (one is for making changes in BIOS itself and the other for windows start up options), while you are still going through BIOS, you will get a menu there where you can pick up any of half a dozen or more modes in which to run. Choose the one you need, normal something or other and proceed with booting. If the machine reverts to safe mode again, it means that you most likely have a conflict whether in hardware or software, but that is altogether another story

You can't, at least not permanently. Safe Mode is to fall back on if everything else has gone up the spout. Your system should boot into normal mode - er, normally.
