at the end of the day, if a person is offended by christmas or christmas decorations then what the f*ck are they doing in a christian country? If i went to india (no offence to indians) and asked this guy to take his turban off cos it offended me, he would laugh in my face. why should it be differrent here????

I'm so glad I don't work in an environment like that. I have a mini Christmas tree that I've put up every year for the past 7 or 8 years. Most people in the office really like it and look forward to when I decorate it. Even those who do not celebrate Christmas in the office all look forward to the tree.

If I worked there I would have an awful lot to say about it, assuming that this Job Centre is in the UK. Why in God's name should Christmas decorations offend ANYBODY let alone the unemployed? I would have thought it might brighten up their visit, and as for all the "other" religions objecting, as far as I'm concerned they should go to 'another place' if they take so much delight in decrying MY way of celebrating Christmas. PC can go and whistle up its own jumper as far as I'm concerned and I don't care who knows it!

In my opinion political correctness has gone too far. However, it may still get worse. The age of respecting everyones feelings, beliefs, ect... is upon us. Equal representation of all beliefs ect. seems to be the latest thing under attack.

First it was no christmas tree, it's a holiday tree. Well now it's not tree at all. What's next? No christmas decorations in the White house?

Here is an example of a recent incident in Seattle.

yes it has gone too far. I heard on the radio that more peopl get upset from Happy Holidays for not paying tribute to religion then they get upset at Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukah. Gosh, if his boss has such a problem with it, then maybe it should be an array of decorations for Christmas, Hannuka, Kwanza, etc.

I wonder if they will be taking the paint off the walls in case it offends minimalists?

It's a clever way of getting people back to work. They just won't be able to stand the job centre offices. What a clever government we have.

Funny how they don't mind upsetting us in every other way. Just mustn't upset people over Christmas.

Thats kinda true about what the business said but at the same time having the decorations up it should incourage them to look harder for a job to have a nice christmas.
So yes they have gone to far with this.. cause other people faults shouldnt ruined everyone else spirit about christmas..

This is all because People have given Lawyers too much power. The Lawyers created political correctness by suing people and companies. Political correctness isn't so much people wanting to respect others as it is people fearing being sued.

There are other reasons besides that like different religions did you know that some religions do not allow trees to be decorated. other religions believe that christ was not born yet and the new testament a blastfamy research and find out about the many religions out there. Besides the political reasons.

Thats pretty pathetic.

The unemployed people will have decorations at home as well, or does the boss think they are all living on the street?

Just shows how daft this world is becomming,

Wow, you must have been pretty devastated. I know I couldn't possibly get through eight hours without seeing some tinsel. Well I can for 11 months of the year, but for the next couple of weeks that's going to be hell.
