I know EXACTLY what your feeling. I was always seen as very good looking, and when horrible acne appeared out of no where about a year and a half ago, i was horrified. Everyone had always noticed me by my looks and even though my looks arent all that makes up who i am, when something like this happens people dont realize what it does to your self esteem, because you KNOW what people must be thinking.

When people say "dont stress it" they obviously have never been through the horrible extent acne can get to. I deeply sympathize with you because i didnt want to leave the house. Ever. I would NEVER wear my hair up, always down to help cover my face. And when i tell you i tried EVERYTHING i mean it!!! Detoxing, everything over the counter, natural remedies, antibiotics, prescription creams and gels EVERYTHING. But there is an answer!!! You WILL face the world again and youll feel amazing when you do!!

If you have persistent acne and nothing seems to help, accutane is your last resort, and its a miracle drug. You can only get it by prescription, and you ahve to enroll in this "I Pledge" program because it is very important that you can NOT get pregnant while using it; serious birth defects are almost guarunteed. However, if your acne is stubborn enough your dermatologist will prescribe it (most regular family physicians wont prescribe it, but they can refer you to a derm). It makes your skin dry and your lips crack, and it might get worse before it gets better, but within a couple of months your skin WILL be completely clear.

TRUST ME on this. And the best part is that the acne really doesnt ever come back, especially not in a severe form. I know just how you feel, and I know that sometimes you jsut want to hide from the world.. Please feel free to email me for any support you need.

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you want natural, at home stuff, you have got to read this book. I had the same problem, for years. It really pissed me off that I should have been more popular, except for the pimples. I am smart and funny, but they just ate away at my self-esteem. I was determined to get rid of them by hook or by crook.

I tried a whole bunch of things like proactive and others but nothing seemed to work. I tried a few different books and e-books and nothing helped. Then, I read an awesome e-book that will teach you all the home remedies that you will need to get rid of acne permanently. At first I thought it was too expensive, but then I realized that I pay this much like every month for pimple medicine and washes, and this was a one time thing. Best decision I ever made! Not only did it help me stop getting pimples, it also helped clear up my old pimple scars, which were really pissing me off!
You can learn about the book at this link

I tried some books from my dermatologist, but they didn't help me, plus I kept on forgetting to return them to the library. The best thing about the e-book is that I downloaded it right away, and i had the copy forever.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm going through the same thing right now. First of all, you should see a dermatologist and get a prescription. But you have to be patient. Most treatments for acne take at least a couple of months to work. Itching and peeling off are parts of the procedure. Most important: don't let this thing control you're life. In the end you get totally paranoid. Right now I have 3 pimples on my forehead and feel like the Frankenstein monster!
So try to get your mind off this and be patient:-)

You should try Proactive, I know you've probably seen their infommercials! That product really works wonders on some people they usually give a free trial and you can see if it works for you and won't have to pay anything if it doesn't. For your weight problem you should really invest in a gym membership, maybe an all womens gym like curves, it might make you feel more comfortable. I know taking the time to work out is hard but you just have to think of the outcome. Remember self confidence is one of the most important things, you need to be confident in yourself no matter how you are on the outside. Good Luck!

My husband had horrible acne when he was a teenager and the best thing to do if possible is to go to a dermatologist and get a prescription. I think the stuff he was on was called acutane. He says it made his face peel off, but he hasn't had acne since.
