I'm really curious about this, the idea of unseemliness in society.
On the one hand there are girls wearing clothing that is more and more revealing - especially low rider jeans n skirts to the point (and I've seen this personally) of the top end of pubic hair on the belly showing, while others (like yourself) are questioning the showing of 'armpit hair.'
I'm old enough to remember the first miniskirts and thinking that 'things had gone as far as they could go.'
Boy, was I wrong.
On the other hand, where Muslims are upset (I generalise here) the exposure of 'flesh' and the general public being upset by this 'foreign moral restrictiveness,' the question is being raised about the armpits and to shave of to not shave!
The moral duality stands upright like an erection at a christening, and surely has to generate some real confusions for many of, us as to what is Ok or Not Ok, and is going on.
Sash.

For a male it is okay to show his arm pits in public and having hair is ok.
But for a woman it is okay to show arm pits but should be hair-less!

I went to many festivals this year, and was the odd one out cos I was the only one who shaved my pits. My m8 let her pit hair grow, but I couldn't do it, cos of the smell, esp on a field with only two solar showers.

No. Think of Ballerina's, Strippers, Dancers, Singers, Sun Bathing, Swimming/Diving, all done in public.

Some people think that pits are totally disgusting, for some reason. I don't get it... but as long as you're not showing them on purpose, you're fine. As far as hair goes, it's really up to you but I think most people find it really gross.

Depends on the situation. If you are on your way to exercise then no. But I would cover them up for a job interview. The current school of thought regarding hair and aesthetics to to keep it to a minimum.

Your underarm hair is natural, but I would personally never show my armpits without first having shaved or creamed away the hair. Most people find it unattractive and it suggests that you can't be bothered....

It's ok for a women if shaved. I do not want to see a man's arm pit any time.

Depends on the person/outfit/amount of hair.
for example:
A woman wearing a summer dress = fine
A man with hair shoulders wearing a vest = not so fine
