Go see your general practitioner first. He or she will give you a game plan and often refer you to a couple counselors. Your general practitioner can write you a prescription and will encourage you to follow-up within a month and also see a counselor.

Yes you can go to your regular physician to talk about medication for emotional problems. Some times they will pre-
scribe the medication that you may need for anxiety. Not all will though, some of them don't like to give you the medication for anxiety, cause they feel it will just make you depended on it. But you can give it a try, cause some will give you the medication you need. Or they will tell you you should go to metal Health, and see someone about your anxiety. If so please do go, and let them help you with the anxiety problem you are haveing. You may find that you don't even need to use any medication. They may just help you with your anxiety in a different way, and you may be surprized that it works, and your anxiety will be gone and you can get to living your life again. So i hope this helps.

Any kind of doctor can do it. Discuss this with your regular doctor first. If necessary he will refer you to a psychiatrist. Don't rush into drugs, though. Most times just talking really helps.

go to your regular doctor first. you could have physical problems you dont realize. discuss the possibility of treatments for emotional issues. she/he can prescribe certain medications to help but if the doctor thinks you could benefit from a counselor and/or psychiatrist you will be referred to one.

Either doc can prescribe anti-anxiety meds. Normally you would see your regular doc first anyway as he would refer you to a Psych doc if felt this was necessary.
