The two people who suggested moving to the Netherlands or Ireland are correct. However, what you will need to do is as follows. You will need to exercise your European Economic Area treaty rights in respect of freedom of movement. You can do this by taking up employment in an EEA country, other than your home country, e.g. Spain, Ireland, etc. Your spouse should then be entitled to join you while you are exercising those rights as a Third Country National. He would be advised to apply for a Freedom of Movement Permit, to enable him to work.
However, I strongly advise you to contact proper legal advice. You should check www.oisc.gov.uk to identify an acredited service.

It is a shame, but at the end of the day your husband has a drug conviction and must be treated the same as every other applicant. There is nothing to stop the rest of your family visiting you so I am unsure as to why you have not seen your Grandson.
Maybe the idea of moving to the Netherlands (or other country) isn't as daft as it may originally sound, that way you and your husband can be together.

It does seem very hard on you. Is there no where you can both go and live and start a totally new life. You must have chaffed off the US for them to say you can never go back to see your family. I don't understand this immigration business. They let in loads of people who don't work and live off the state, and go to the city to nick and pickpocket, but the people that want to change and live a better life get punished. I don't know what the answer is. But good luck anyway and stay off those rotten drugs.

it's a tough one, yes you made mistakes but unfortunately yours reflect on your immigration status.
