I am traveling this holiday season and want to carry home security cameras in hand carry is it possible?

they are expensive and dont want them to be lost or broke on checked baggage

I don't see why that would be a problem as you are allowed to carry digital cameras, etc... on board. I would suggest that you still check with the TSA http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft with you.

Yes, You can have in hand carry your cam is no problem
