This means that the way you look at yourself has a direct impact on what you are able to achieve.
IE:
If you think you are a looser, then you will not have the self esteem to make your dreams a reality, but rather you will sulk and be submersed in pessimism never realizing your own potential.
However, if you think that anything is possible if you try hard enough....then the world is your playground and the sky is the limit becasue you will keep trying until you achieve success.
Your words and thoughts have power in your life. Always try to think of the glass as half empty instead of half full.....and don't let the negative things of the past hinder you in today or prevent you from trying to soar tomorrow.
God Bless and Good Luck in whatever it is that drove you to ask this question!
Merry Christmas too!

I believe that our thoughts create our feelings and our feelings are what we use to perceive the world. If we think the world is a scary place, we feel afraid. If we think the world is a place of endless possibilities we feel excitement and joy. If we think the world is out to get us we feel paranoid.
Our thoughts create our beliefs as well. We act from what we believe to be true about an event or person or circumstance or ourselve. So we are always in creation of our world. If I believe I'm not a worthy person, I perpetuate situations where my beliefs are validated, because that's all I see through the filters I put in place about myself. If I think no one likes me, I only see that which validates that no one likes me.
To rise higher, we need to challenge our beliefs - examine them for their validity and change our thoughts which are negative - replace them with positive.

hmm..well let's say you have a poor view of yourself. You will not rise/succeed in life any farther than your poor thoughts will let you. I guess you could use confidence as an example. If you have low confidence you will never get anywhere in life because you look down on yourself. If you have high confidence then you really can't get any higher than that on less you think more of yourself. I think what it means is that how you view/think of yourself affects how much you will succeed in life.

You can only soar as high as your mind is willing to allow. Mental slavery and fear of the unknow may hinder your decisions on the path you will lead. Clear your mind and open your eyes and realize that you lead your own life and nothing says you have to live in the stae you are currently in. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

It means if you think you are a nobody, someone who's undeserving of happiness, love, health, that really good job, success and all of those other "good" things, you'll always be stuck at the bottom.
It's like the saying, "You can't get someone to love you until you love yourself", but it is far more encompassing.

I means you cannot achieve more than you consider yourself capable of.
eg. If you think you are jerk no matter what you do you will not become a gentleman as have limited yourself to being a jerk.
(I don't mean you're one it's just the first thing that popped in my head as an example).

Everything starts with a thought. Everything around you started as a thought in someones mind before it made itself manifest in the physical. We each have in us ideas about ourselves and who we are based on things our parents did or did not teach us, religious ideas about who we are, as well as how much we let others ideas about us effect us. Our life reflects how we think about ourself.
For example: If you were constantly told growing up that you were a failure AND YOU BELIEVED IT then it would be pretty likely that everything you tried...jobs, relationships your life in general would reflect that belief that you were a failure....
Following that line of thought then..it makes sense to me that those people who are a success in life...have very positve ideas about who they are....and their life has risen to reflect that. Our life reflects how we think about ourself.
