My daughters daycare recently asked that i remove them from there due to MY concern with how vague their billing practices are and BY ME telling the director i was going to let the community know of this she kicked them out. in all the time my kids have gone there my kids have not caused any problems. my kids are not perfect angels in any way but they have done nothing wrong. and they are paid in full with no balances overflowing. (the billing outline) is printed on a form, but extremely vague.Since they no longer go there am i entitled to pull their medical and personnal records from there? they should have no records of them if they no longer go there? or am i wrong?

You can, but I believe they need to keep that information for their own records to show proof of the children they've had for tax purposes. More than likely, if you choose to do so, you'll end up getting a copy or they'll keep copies.

Unfortunately, daycares can pretty much get kids out of their facility for just about anything they want as long as they have documentation of it. If the director felt threatend by your comment, that would've done it.

If they are licensed they need to keep the records for a certain amount of time.....I am curious as to what precipated your need to tell the community and what is vague about the whole thing but if you need answers you really should consider contacting your state daycare licensing board you can do so by contacting your social services and they can tell you whom to contact with questions

Your right, it sounds to me like they are trying to scam people and didn't want anyone catching on to them.
This happened to me once w/ my girls, eventually that daycare did get in trouble and I sure as heck didn't get my money back. Also, they had released their PERSONAL info to too many people, so for the rest of their lives now (2yrs. old and 6mnths. old) I have to keep checking that no one is trying to steal their identity or claim them on their taxes. It really sucks, there are some sorry butt people out there.
Also I would like to add to readers that there is a form when kids enter into daycares or schools that can be signed BY ASKING FOR IT by you for them to not give out any information at all.
Any child molester could pose as a newspaper person and get any kids info at any time just by asking. Our government stinks when it comes to protection of kids.

You have that right....I did it when I switched my 2 daughters out of one to another! Its not gonna be easy from what you said but its worth a shot. There is no reason why they shouldn't give you all the information they have on your children!! On the other hand if it becomes a problem..its not a big deal unless you gave them ss numbers or whatever. Good Luck!

They must keep those records for several years in case of investigation for lawsuits, etc. However, you should be able to get a copy of the records for yourself.

Best Wishes,

Sue
