I am currently a study student with the Jehovah Witness'. Me and my husband just recently got married, and we want to do our personal study together with his teacher. I don't want to hurt my study teacher's feelings as she is already disappointed that I didn't tell her that I was getting married. I just want to make sure everything is done appropriately.

Now that you're married your husband is your spiritual head. It is his decision, along with asking you your wishes, what the two of you will do in the study arrangement. It is alway better for husband and wife to study together.

The only time this would not apply is if your husband decided to stop studying and wanted you to follow him in this decision.

Kirk had a great suggestion, but I wouldn't recommend it for the long term arrangement.

Has your husband asked your local service overseer what he recommends?

Personal study by definition is personal, without the assistance of a teacher or a spouse. Simple bible reading can be considered personal bible study, but ideally that would include meditation and examining footnotes and marginal cross-references along with the reading. Tools such as concordances, interlinear translations, maps, and bible dictionaries are very useful in personal study.

Jehovah's Witnesses also publish hundreds of publications in hundreds of languages which can be a real help to the bible student. A few Witness publications discuss the bible verse-by-verse (such as "Commentary on the Book of James" and "Revelation - Its Grand Climax At Hand", and others on Ezekiel, Isaiah, and Daniel). Others discuss specific sections of the bible thematically, such as their discussion of the twelve so-called "minor prophets" (Hosea through Malachi) entitled "Live With Jehovah's Day in Mind". Others present bible events chronologically, such as "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" (discussing the entire earthly life of Jesus Christ).

Any of these books can be used to assist one in his personal study of the bible, but no human book can ever approach the wisdom and value found in God's Word the Bible.

I would suggest researching Jehovah's Witnesses independently before you proceed. Look up their history, doctrines and their teachings. Are they really Christian? Do they teach the truth? You need to look outside their Watchtower to find the answers,

Go to apologetic index on the web, and look up Jehovah's Witness. You should find everything there you need to know.
