Traveling with a full beard does not cause problems with air travel security. I have a full beard and have been traveling worldwide for the last 5 years and I have not been hassled once for it anywhere. The only time that it may take a few minutes longer is when you are clearing immigration and your passport photo shows you without a beard and now you have one. They will pretty much do a "double take" to make sure that it is you and then they will allow you to pass by the government.
Having a full beard is not a reason to be refused to board an aircraft and if you have a beard, you aren't being profiled in any database record.

No, it will not affect you getting thru security unless you are hiding something in it. People now days get on the plane with long hair and beards down to their yee yees. The general public has accepted that people are people and no discrimination is allowed by law but unfortuantely since 911, profiling is looked at closely.
Don't worry, you will be fine. Whatever you do, do not fake accent like the person before me said. Take the stress of of yourself and just be yourself.

It shouldn't. So far no one has used their beard to try to smuggle explosives onto a plane. Some security checks are "random", so if a particular security person views the beard as being "terroristic" you might get a little more attention. Don't worry about it unless you are planning to use the beard for something illegal.

I've not heard of any problems with a full beard, but it might depend on airport to airport.
A full beard, long robe, bulging suitcases with wires might get you in trouble. But just the beard? No.
The main thing is to remain calm at security checkpoints. If you get loud/belligerent with personnel, they might come up with any reason to detain you, even an unfair one.

No, but you'll make the other people on board nervous. As a matter of fact, American airports may pass you over for inspection JUST because you look like a terrorist. They are so afraid of getting finger pointed at for 'profiling'. Like profiling is something new. I think white people just figured out that we already know about profiling. Ha! I'd say put on a fake accent just for fun..

Actually I pick to take the coach on lengthy hauls. When I cross to Baltimore or DC, I used to fly, now I take the coach, its simplest two hours, stress-free, no airports hassles, and I'm downtown while I get there, no longer 20 miles away. I force allot extra to, however its no longer always something to do with the defense, I simply do not like handling the "detail" within the airports.

Not likely, unless it keeps triggering the metal detector alarm at the security point. :)
