Sometimes you need an outside look, and sometimes the best approach is to give you advice. Don't quite know that they turn into shrinks, but it's not bad to get advice, especially if you asked for it .

The difference between some of us and a shrink is personal experience.

If you've experienced it before, you can talk about it. Even if it went horribly wrong, at least you had experience with it and can share what you did and what happened.

Besides, some shrinks are far more messed up than many here on this board.

Maybe we are just trying to provide our insight and trying to help the person.... I know I am not a shrink.... But it helps to see what others think.....

A lot of questions asked in this group should be directed towards shrinks but how many of us can afford a shrink????

Some people are answering questions based on their real experiences which is much more valuable than a shrinks answer.

A better question is why do people waste 5 points asking questions like this?

Shrinks don't go to school to learn how to answer questions. They go to learn about the human psyche. Answering questions only requires common knowledge and skills learned through experience. Something a lot of us already possess. Some verbalize it better than others.

We answer question based on our personal experience and opinions. No one thinks they are shrinks, we just hope to offer a little piece of advice from our own lives in hopes that we can help someone else out.

Shrinks don't answer questions. they ask the patient more questions and let the patient learn how to deal with life on their own.
I've never seen that type of dialogue here.
