Do what you normally do on a date and don't worry about it. The guy likes you since he asked you out. That means he is going to be very forgiving of any mistakes or whatnots you make.

Just be confident, speak slowly and clearly to each other. Take a dictionary, piece of paper and a pen.
I'm English and married a Japanese guy, when we first started dating his English wasn't great and my Japanese was none existant. But we managed by using a dictionary for unknown words and a pen and paper to draw diagrams of what we were talking about when the conversation got confusing.
Now neither of us needs the dictionary or the paper and pen.
Enjoy yourself, I'm sure he will be just as nervous but there's not reason why you can't enjoy yourselves!

Don't worry about it, he has already spoken to you, so knows already that your English is poor. It will be great a experience even if you decide it is not for you. Just be yourself, no point in pretending to be something else. It will probably be really interesting as a topic of conversation will be your different cultures.

Actually, it is much more better to date with a guy who is from a diffrent culture cos there is a lot to talk about! u both will find each other very interesting and ask so many questions that u won't even understand how time will pass ! so just relax and talk !

Your english sounds excellent to me from reading your question. Try and talk about things you may have in common like:
- why you have both moved abroad
- the area you now live in
- hobbies and interests
- music you like etc.
- holidays
Ask him about Germany and his culture and try and look interested!
