Don't count on them being unique, artist take pictures of their work put in their books and lay it on the counter for all to see. How do you know someone else didn't get yours? Some might start as unique but are you sure they still are?

I got a tattoo done about 20 years ago that was unique I designed it myself, and had it done in England. Now I see it everywhere, most tattoo places in the USA have it up on the walls as Flash.

I have three tattoos. A lizard on my arm(the start of a sleeve), and a cat on my leg. Both are unique, my boyfriend, who is also my tattoo artist, drew up both of my tattoos. No one will ever have these two and any others that I get in the future. I do have a heart on my leg, it's tribal and in two seperate pieces, I got this tattoo because it represents my baby that I lost. But in all, I think uniqe tattoos look the best. I don't like flash...it's too...generic

Unique tattoos al thought copying is a form of flattery i would not suggest copying someones tattoo, ive seen people go into a shop and just pick one off the wall and meet some one else who has it same place same tat. it was pretty funny

Be original for sure!! When you get older, believe it or not you will get tired of some of your tattoos. But if each tattoo is your own design and/or really means something to you, I think that they won't bother you as much when you 65 because they are there for a purpose or for remembrance.

I would think everyone would pick unique tats!
However unless you yourself did your own tat, or specifically told the tattooist he/she is not allowed to use your design then you design is being used by that tattooist. It can be sold again and put onto someone else.
Mine is unique and I know if I run into anyone else who has my design with other names within it, I know this is from my head. If my tattooist can make some money off of it better for him!

All of mine are also unique i like to customize my own tattoo work.I find art i like and mix it up until it is my own.My 360 has cherry creek flash on it although i would never put up my custom art work as i like my tats as my own.Im currently working on my sleeve you can see it within my 360 photoz im an ink addict i plan to cover 80% of my body with unique art like my mind has spilled out on paper.

i like having my own tattoos. they may not be completely "unique" but my tattoo artist does custom work only so i get to see him draw it right in front of me and it is so amazing. and it is satisfying to know that nobody has "my" tattoo.

also, for those people who say thier tattoo artist will take their custom tattoo and put it on someone else... that sucks. my tattoo artist will never tattoo the same tattoo on another person. he may take the same concept if someone wants it but he won't use the same colors or shading and he always draws out each tattoo freehand so it will never be "the same"

Something unique is always best. I sometimes will take ideas from others tattoos that I have seen and change them to incorporate my own ideas, but mine all are solely my own creation.
