Because they do not understand it......something you dont understand turns to fear, & fear turns to hate. Simple as that.
The Bible was writtin by PEOPLE, NOT GOD. btw you want to talk about gay & the Bible....read about the relationship between David & Johnathan

1 Sam. 16:14-21 thru 2 Sam. 1:26

& that crap about saying all gay people have mutiple partners is like saying all black people are rappers.....give me a break!

Why am I going to post to such a bias question? (was thinking that)

First that quote of 'casting the first stone' is only in the Bible for "tradition" sake. It was not apart of the original text... Why is obvious.

Because God teaches (through His Word, the Bible) that repentence is needed for forgiveness. So this woman was supposedly taken in the act. No repentence was sought.

Throughout the Bible (old and new test.) it teaches that one MUST repent to be forgiven.

Now I think "hate" is a stronger word (or at least for a real Christian). I dislike homosexuals, but would have to treat them like anyone else I knew that didn't care if they were sinning.

homosexuality is an act, not a race or a disease. It is not something that can't be helped... you just got'a do it. That is silly.

A homosexual is sinning (there is no doubt and God's Word makes that clear over and over). A sin unrepented of can not be forgiven. If a homosexual repented and stopped the act then forgiveness comes.

Jesus died so we could be forgiven, not so we could continue to sin (read the Bible).

Jesus did say- "those who are without sin cast the first stone. No one cast a stone after that powerful statement- so even Christians, who I am one can sin- True christians do not hate homosexuals. True Christians want them to come to Christ, just like we did. Yes Jesus died for ALL our sins, but we have to ask for forgiveness and repent- turn from our sin, no matter what that sin may be. About that women that did not get any stones thrown at her? Jesus did get the accusers to leave her alone- however if you read the passage to its conclusion Jesus told her- "Women where are your accusers, now GO AND SIN NO MORE.

...I think the better question is, why don't homosexuals respond to the truth instead of crying out they are being hated? God's word says that the homosexual lifestyle is sinful and that those who practice it will not inherit the kingdom of God.
...Even if you choose to disregard Scripture, consider this: the Centers for Disease Control (which is hardly a right-wing group) reported that the average life span of a male homosexual is 41 years, well below that of a heterosexual (70 - 80 years). The human body was not designed for their kind of activity, nor was it designed for multiple partners. If they stopped their homosexual lifestyle, it would very likely increase their life span.

I think what yo are seeing is the Christian reaction to the hate shot in their direction by homosexuals. If you read Romans 1:18-32, you will see that homosexuality is actually a "result" of sin.

First of all, the Church has always been afraid of sex. They don't want to talk about it, they don't want us doing it. Pagans used it in their ceremonies, and I think that may have something to do with it.
Also, people in general fear what they do not understand. Just as the sane cannot understand the suicidal, the straight generally cannot understand the homosexual.
Some people are better with certain areas of christianity. Take for example, my mom. She's all about doing for the people around her, and she has to be the most judgemental person I know. Because he lives with her, my dad's the same way now. I'm better with the "love thy neighbor" than really any other aspect of the christian lifestyle. My best friend/roommate is gay, and it doesn't matter to me. I wish there were an easier answer. And other than fear, there really isn't one...

Because the ancient men who made up the bible were reflecting their knowledge and culture at the time. They didn't have access to the scientific method which shows a strong indicator of a biological basis for homosexuality.
But it doesn't matter, Christians believe their god created people that he knows will go to hell before he created them.

Disapproval of sin does not equal hatred. We hate the SIN not the sinner. Get your facts straight.

Ignorance!

There is no sin. Men made up the words sin, hell and satan. There is much justification in the bible to spread hate and bigotry. Have you ever read 1Corinthians? I was shocked! NO way, this book has anything whatsoever to do with the Lord!
