remember that kitten will become an adult. i name mine according to different characteristics they have. their color (ebony), their behavior (climber), their personality ( sassy) etc.
i had one named callie short for calico, another dallie short for dalmation (she was spotted just like a dalmation)/ i had another named tigger He looked like a tiger but had a very mellow personality.
get to know your kitten first and a name will come to you that will fit both of you.

I have a gray cat whose name is Mouse. He squeaks whenever he tries to "talk" hence the name.
I have a Maine Coone female that we named "Swiffer", because when she came to see my hubby for the first time, she came out from under the T.V. stand covered in dust bunnies. My hubby took one look at her and said, "Oh look Babe, we have our very own little Swiffer". The name stuck.
My oldest cat is named "Rusty" because he is all orange. We call him Boo, because he likes to play "Peek-a-boo".
I agree with a previous poster, wait to see what the personality of the kitten is, then decide on a name. It could take a while, but, they usually seem to understand their name quickly when it is appropriate.

I have 3 cats - Jelly, Lily (combo name from little kitty) and JuJu (magic)..
Booger, Lil' Booger and Beastie are great names as well. My cats always have nicknames...but the main names are used when the good ol' treat can is rattled and i need them to come home.
