I have an older toshiba 52" rear projection tv. I got Direct TV and tried to use the dtv remote to work the tv. None of the suggested codes worked so I tried the manuel method. It didn't work and now neither does the orriginal remote that came with the tv. I bought a universal remote and same thing, will not work no matter what I do.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? I am lazy and don't like to get my butt up to adjust volume.

I like the funny answers people give, but I am looking for serious answer please.

The sensor in the remote has gone bad. Replace it.

Well it looks like the remote may be needed to be replaced. Contact Direct TV for a new remote. Or call and ask them how to fix the problem. Maybe replace the batteries. Make sure your universal remote is compatible with your TV. I do know you need Direct TV remote for their box to work. Good Luck. If all else fails smash the remotes and start from square one.
