Your license may not have been suspended, and there will not be a warrant out for failure to pay a traffic ticket. In FL, speeding citations are normally infractions. You will not get arrested at the airport but you may not be able to rent or lease a vehicle if you do have a suspended DL. Please call Leon County Traffic Clerk of Court at 850-577-4100. They will look up your name and information and advise you the steps you have to take.
Here is the good news though. If your UK DL has not been suspended, you are probably good to go. I would hate it, though, if you arrived here on vacation and you were restricted from acquiring a rental vehicle, etc. Call the above number. Ask to speak to a supervisor who will run your DL through the system. Good luck.

They issue a bench warrant which does 'not' have a statute of limitations. Then quit caring until you get pulled over and a NCIC check is done. Then your warrant appears and the locality you are in will probably arrest you, take you to jail and issue a notice of appeal since most states will not extradite over such a small amount. You would then be offered a settlement which would include fine, court costs, secondary fine for absconding and processing fees plus his license was suspended for 6 months. Last person I know this happened too got the ticket in Oklahoma and picked up in Louisiana. The original $75 ticket cost him almost $3000.00 with lawyers fees and the fines.

Its not likely you will get stopped at the airport for this ticket. But if you get stopped by a cop and he checks your details, there is a chance you'll spend the night in a cell with an over friendly criminal.
They wont appreciate a limey not paying the ticket and having the cheek to come back.
If you want to pay it, get in touch with the embassy in the UK and ask them for advice.

Your license is probably suspended by now. You need to get in contact with Floridas DMV and pay the citation and a reinstating fee. I'm from Fl and it happned to me. I had paid the citation but did not pay the re instating fee (which I was unaware of it at the time, it was $25) with out it ur license will be suspended until you pay all the late fees and such.
Good luck

If you got the U.N. International Drivers license don't worry about it. Violating your driving privelege in this country would violate the U.N. Treaty. Florida MAY have issued a misdeamenor warrant for the unpaid citation... Call a AAA rep in Fla and have them check. If they have, go to New Orleans instead?
