I want to go to the doc. but I don't have ins. so I want to only have to go if I really need to go. so can anyone tell me what it might be or has anyone had any similar case?I appriciate any helpful answers

sounds like bronchitis. try drinking lots of water and taking mucinex. breath deep and cough hard when you can to clear the gunk out of your chest. if it doesn't clear up in say 3 days or it gets worse then i would see the dr.

Try taking benadryl, which will help if it is either allergies (what it sounds like to me,) or some kind of general sickness (like a cold or the flu.) If that helps, keep trying it, but if you get no relief from the benadryl, you need to see a doctor. You actually might be better off financially going to the ER, as they all have free care for low income people. It will take some paperwork, but it's worth it for free. My biggest concern is that it is bronchitis or asthma, and that you would need an inhaler or some other prescription medication in order to get better.

it could be the whooping cough, or pertussis.
