Get on the scale holding something ( a 5 lb. bag of flour, for example) and see if your weight registers 5 lbs. heavier. If it does, you'll know your scale is accurate.

Go to your clinic and ask them to weight you on their scales and then go home immediately and weight yourself on your scale. If the readings are the same then your scale is set right. If the readings are different then adjust your scale accordingly.

It doesn't matter. Your scale is to have an average measure.
Don't measure yourself anywhere else so you don't get confused or get a digital one. You know, the ones that even show the grams!

make sure it is level on a bare floor the arrow is on the zero
and the dial spinds freely...
