They even found in our DNA proof that we all derived from one man and one woman. Adam and Eve. therefore i maintain that it should be taught in school. i teach my kids about God at home to. i do not think that teachers should teach kids how to prayin school or teach them how to believe for that matter. only a pastor should do that. but creationism they should teach as a theory. when i was a kid i took my Bible to school to read on the playground. and the principle told me that i had to put it up and if i brought it back i would be suspended. i did not read it to anyone or try to teach it to anyone.it was Just there for me. dont i have a right to be angry when my 5 year old son is asked what he learned over the weekend, and when he answers Jesus loves me, that the teacher tells him he is wrong because she is afraid that a non religious kid will be offended by what my kid is happy about? or am i not to teach my son that so that he doesnt upset your fragile minds?

Oh boy! What a rock and a hard spot- Huh? I guess if I was u, I would inform your son that all that you are teaching him is the most important thing he could learn. Being intelligent in society and a college education for a good job is important, but our identity with GOD is the most important thing in life to accomplish. ALL else is failure. I see he's only 5, so you'll have to change those big words for him. But if I were u, I would try to have a meeting, and likewise they would stand up for a non religious child or family, you expect them to also stand up for your religious family. It's really unfair to say, you're wrong to a child when they are learning about our saviour. They have no right, if anything, she should have praised him for an honest answer and moved on to the next child. Not making a big deal out of it and moving on would have been more ideal I think. But please address this, as it will damaging to your son if he is contradicted at school for his faith, and than praised at home. Know what I mean? Good luck, it seems a touchy issue, but if you address it with true Christian kindness and realistic solutions, hopefully it will turn out ok. :o] Happy Holy-days.:o[]

OK, Ill play.

I will accept your statement that scientists have found the first two humans. I accept that their names were Adam and Eve. How did they get here? Were they created as in Genesis? Did they evolve from a different species?

Please accept the following as helpful, rather than critical. When you do not use proper punctuation and capitalization (of course we all make typos) your statement is very difficult to read. In addition, you make yourself look uneducated, therefore your argument is automatically less persuasive.

When a five year old is told that Jesus loves him, he believes it. He doesn't think critically about it, or research some alternative points of view, he just believes it. Your five year old son will probably never be mentally capable of questioning the faith you have programmed him with. Teaching a child religion, whether in a school, church or at home, is nothing more or less than intellectual abuse. It undermines freedom of religion, and perpetuates ignorance and oppression. My fragile mind can handle it, it's your son's you should be worried about.

Should they teach the other creation myths as well, and treat them as co-equal theories? That Pandora was the first woman and was created as a punishment for man? That Ask and Embla where carved from two trees and then given life by Odin and they lived on a world created by the body of Ymir? How about that FSM created the world. There is as much evidence for all these as their is for biblical creation, so I assume you are asking for a special status for your beleifs.
Of course, elevating your beliefs over these others would be an establisment of religion.

you know that even with evolution ... there would have to have been the first man and woman
who would have begun the human race
you call it adam and eve .... the evolutionist will call it the first homosapiens.... no difference except your interpretation
this does not prove one right over the other though .... nothing concrete anyway

Well, you're lying. But I'll bite. They found an "Eve". A hominid who has RNA that seems as though all humanity branched from it. How many of these "Eve's" were there? Who knows. Was there another hominid ancestor that also has this RNA and is no longer in existence and was never fossilized? Who knows. There is no evidence that this "Eve" was the first woman.
