....is not whether it exists, but what is the cause and can man fix it? Not only is there a lot of debate about whether or not it's man made, but there is obviously some who are missing the point about it's existence. It obviously exists or we would still be in the Ice Age.

Ok; I've been reading all these questions/statements from people ; ex- vice presidents..what ever. The main question is why we are getting all worked up. I am the first to understand facts and conclusions, but I am not going out to buy duct tape and water until things are definate so, we need to calm down about the global warming issue for a bit and just live life.
By the way, if you really want to know about how this is something part of pOLITICAL Hype..go to wikipedia or a search engine and look up "GLOBAL COOLING" - It was the big scare of the 70's. now it's global warming...Can't wait until 30 years from now when we are worrying about "GLOBAL MICROWAVING HOT POCKETS".

Historically, the planet has gone through many many phases of heating and cooling. Indeed, there is even a theory that says if we continue heating the atmosphere, we may even induce another ice age. How? Easy to explain.

More heat creates more precipitation (which we are seeing), more rain actually produces more snow on higher ground (if not at the poles). More snow results in more light/heat reflected back into the atmosphere, which means more rain, and so the cycle goes around. Eventually leading to snow falling on lower ground too. The process is long and slow, but eventually it potentially leads to a drop in temperatures.

I'm not saying *I* believe this, rather that there exists an alternative to the idea that we are destined to see temperatures on the planet always increasing.

Best wishes and stay warm!

Senator Inhofe gave a good summary. It is "inconvenient" but the truth is that the press has been telling us both that there is global warming and a coming ice age. Read it. I've seen both reported myself in my short life time.

The second link has active links, including about the defection of Claude Allegre from the GW supporters list.

Global Warming isn't really as big of a problem as the media is making it out to be. Sure, we can do better, but we aren't going to start killing ourselves in the near future if we don't change our ways. 40 years ago, scientists were worried about global *cooling*(they wanted to cover the ice caps in soot!) so I have lost some of my faith in them.

I think global warming is a consequence of the way we have abused God's earth. And now we have to live with the repecussions. But we do need to take steps to to alleviate further damage.

Maybe the west coast is slowly turning into the east coast, and so forth. I know in the Mid-West they've been having "Indian Summers" off and on.
