player one is three points ahead of player two with only the black ball left,he hits the black and goes in off,he is now four points behind.does the white come back up,and they play til the black goes down?

The CORRECT answer is that the first foul shot when only the black ball is left ends the game, therefore in this scenario, when player one goes 'in off' the black the referee will award player two, seven points and that is the end of the game so player two wins by four points. I am a qualified snooker referee. These answers above are most definately wrong!

I am a club umpire and the answer to your question is player one loses the game, the rule is any foul committed on the black ball is end of game. Unless it constitute a tie in points after the foul is committed then it will be a re spot of the black ball.

Player one loses the game then, there can be only one set of points scores for the black ball, unless the scores become tied, then it goes to a re-spotted black.

yes the game is over when all the coloured balls have been potted unless one player concedes
