I am a progressive Buddhist priest who shares many beliefs with other Buddhists. I want more than anything for everyone to be happy and free, and being Buddhist is the best way I could think of making it happen.

I am a Christian. I have found great peace and happiness since I have found a pastor that translates the Bible from the original languages. I am Indian. My people believe in a Trinity: The Creator, Baby Sender and Baby Thunder. In my culture children were given nicknames until an official naming ceremony. I believe that Baby Thunder is Jesus. I have always been taught to pray honor and thank the Creator for every living thing. I live on an ancient Indian village on the river. I just saw a boat go by with no one in it. The river is raging. Our renewing ceremony is in December. We pray to the Creator in our language and dance. In the olden days we danced for 10 nights. We only dance for one now. The girls dresses are made out of deer hides and shells and way about 50 pounds. The men wear hides and carry beaver pelts that house the ceremonial knives. God answers by prayers. The day that my second daughter was born my husband cried as he wanted a girl. I knew that I would have a son and I prayed to the Lord and he answered"The day your daughter is 4, then you will have your son" I believed God and guess what? My daughter was 4 when my son was born. I did not realize that God does not "talk" to everyone like that. I have several other incidences but I won't elaborate now. . I accepted Christ as Savior when I was 21 , I was very upset and crying uncontrollably as I had sinned and hurt many people. I was visited by 2 angels of light and felt a peace and warmth that was unexplainable. Anyway I am a Christian and those are some of the reasons whyI believe the way I do. Peace out.

My religion is Islam and the reason that i choose to continue living as a Muslimah is because it is the most perfect and flawless religion. When you hear of any flaws in my religion, it's from those who are trying to misguide people from it. Islam has never been changed or compromised. It's the same now as it was revealed with no changes. It's the most truthful religion with all of the answers. Islam is for all times. Islam doesn't need to be modernized because it fits into every aspect of life no matter what century we move on in to.
Hope i answered you well!

My religion is Islam. I came to islam in 1992 after meeting a friend in college who was Muslim. What mainly drew me to Islam was the status of women. I wanted that for myself. The other stuff like One God and Muhammad was all very natural to me, as if I had known it all my life anyway. I studied Islam for a year and compared it to many aspects of Christianity, my former faith. In the end I knew I had to accept Islam because it was what heart wanted and what my soul needed. It was the peace I had been searching for my entire life. It ended so much of the craziness I had in my life. It was the structure, and even more it was the PROOF I needed and I had been searching for. I said my shahada in my tiny darkened apartment that cold winter night. The only light was that from the little lights I had strewn through a fishing net pegged on the wall like a spider's web. The moon was bright and cast it's light in through a window. There I stood in the middle of the room with moonlight around me and said in Arabic as I had read, "I believe in God and Muhammad is His Messenger." I huge sigh came from me and just melted to the floor and cried. At last I was truly a servant of God Almighty.

And this is why I have islam.

I have no religion. I'm atheist, yet spiritual. I have an opinion but it has more to do with different level of awareness and ancient myths than with nowadays monotheistic views. I respect every Faith and I'm a very good Bible scholar. I love to go through ancient scrolls of wisdom as I believe that there's a lot learn from them about human nature.

Why have I no Faith? Because in order to believe I need evidence. Faith offers no evidence, and its answers aren't convincing to me.

Religion seems to carry an inherent element of "faith" which is ridiculous. Science is based on falsifiability. Heart surgeons haven't achieved the high success rate by asking others to "take it on faith" the ventricular pump LOOKED constricted...

Don't believe the hype! We're meaning machines. Religion just exploits this mundane facet of evolutionary psychology.
