What do you do about who presents are from at your house? This is the first year we have a child who is old enough to see what they say.

My side:When I was growing up all the presents were from santa. Anything that was under the tree was from santa. When we went to my granparents they always put from santa on there also and told us that santa left us presents there because we were extra good.

My Husbands side: In his family they always had all the presents be from who they were from except 1. They had 1 that was the "big special present" and it was from santa.

My argument:Whats the point of santa if he only brings you 1 gift? Then why should my child think I'm not as good as santa because he brings a really cool presents and all the of the filler presents are from mom and dad.

His argument: If the kids read the gift is from someone else's house the kids will think that we didn't get them anything, everyone else got them presents but not us

Any ideas? What do you put

At home, we always had a ton of presents under the tree from Santa. Our parents also got us each some gifts, but even now I don't remember what they were! lol Usually some candy as we got older, always a book or two, and another couple of things probably. See, kids really don't pay that much attention! lol

Anyway, we'd get a gift from my one grandma at her house, she always marked them from Santa, but we knew she just marked them that way and that they were really from her. At my other grandparent's house, they gave us a gift just from themselves. The problem we are having now is that I live on my own with my child, but I still have always gotten "santa gifts" under the tree at my parents house, ever since I moved out. So now, so does my daughter. But my child also gets "santa gifts" at our house, so one of my younger siblings is wondering why my daughter gets presents from Santa at two different places. I don't think my mom has come up with a reason yet! I guess you guys will just have to discuss it, it sounds like you can come up with a reasonable solution, although I don't know what that is. I just know our Christmases, the way we did them, were just fine and perfect to me!

Why not cut it down the middle and put your name on a few gifts that range in price and put Santa on a few gifts that range in price. Then your child is getting the best of both worlds. I was raised like your hubby though and most of the presents came from the family and only one or two from Santa. I never thought that my family was cheap because the bigger presents came from Santa. Good luck

If your child still believes in Santa them let them keep believing in him.. Get a big gift from mom and dad and everything else from santa. When going to relatives house for Christmas let them put on the gifts what ever feels right for them..

In my family, we give our children each one gift from Santa, usually the one they want the most. It is left unwrapped under the tree for them to see Christmas morning. The rest are from us and their brother/sister. We always make sure that they make an extensive list and try to get a few things that we know they really want so that Santa can give them one, we give them one, and the other comes from the brother/sister. They seem to really enjoy this and don't really care where they come from.

Also, we have a family gathering Christmas Eve each year where Santa makes a special appearance for the kids. We draw names and each child receives two gifts from "Santa," even the older children and adults receive one each.

Santa would bring the toys - especially what the child really wanted. The clothes, etc would come from the family. If he asked YOU for a specific toy and not Santa, then that one could be from you. Otherwise, Santa brings the toys -- that is why he has a toy factory!

My mom always put from Santa(still does) on most of the gifts and Mom&Dad on the rest! She made it so Santa gave me what I asked him for. So Santa was always the BIG gift giver, not Mom & Dad. Tell him you have the rest of their lives to put from Mom & Dad, only a few years of Santa enjoyment for the kids, let them have it.

Half of my presnet were from Santa the other half were from my mom and dad when I was growing up. Its about the same as for my daughter except since we stay at my parents on christmas eve, all the gifts "left" at my parents are from santa, then the ones at my house are from mommy .

If you are looking for a creative Christmas gift idea, why not consider getting a personalized Jigsaw Puzzle made from your own photo. This makes a very personal and thoughtful gift that all ages can enjoy from kids to grandparents. It also makes a great keepsake that many people frame and display in their homes. You can choose either to use a single photo as the basis for a photo puzzle or select multiple photos to be used in a Photo Collage layout. A text message of title can also be added to the puzzle making it a truly unique gift idea. A personalized puzzle takes around 7-14 days to be delivered and costs from $16 upwards.
