Every one seems to laugh at their religion until everyone's laughing at theirs south park exagerates about everything so really what is the big deal that everyone is mad about?

I admit I was upset at bloody mary and the fact that they made that the miracle instead of something else but even that I know that south park makes fun of everything and everything is exageration but I still dont think they should be pulled because someone dosnt like them its just not right

I don't get it. Part of SP's appeal is that it's an equal opportunity offender. Everyone gets made fun of, and I love it. I haven't heard anyone upset about the Scientology thing, except for Isaac quitting. I'm gonna miss Chef, but he obviously wasn't such a good sport.

First of all you are doing the "sweeping generality" thing with this question. "Everyone pissed" " Everyone mad". Who is "everyone" ???

You have the right to be upset when your religion is made to look ridiculous by these South Park "twits". There is a fine line between this kind of "humour" joking and degrading and the cartoon dipictions of the Jews in Hitler's Nazi propaganda in pre WWll Germany mid 1930's . I mean he even said they eat babies!
Hilarious.....
The point here is that it has the same intention. It's not "overtly" hostile like Hitler's propaganda was, but it ultimately has the same effect because that is it's intent.
It's got you ridiculing and invalidating another religion hasn't it?
That means you currently have this viewpoint towards over 10 million of your fellow human beings. (That is the current number of Scientologists world wide ) You think they are ridiculous and therefore do not have the same rights as you to defend their religion .

This is the same attitude that the German people had about the Jews , thus allowing the Nazis to murder 6 million without protest from their fellow countrymen.
Religious freedom and religious tolerance and basic human rights will continue to need fighting for until they are an actual fact , rather than just a nice idea.

By the way I come from a Jewish background and my family are practicing Jews. I am also an active Scientologist for the past 34 years....
What do you think should be done about people like me??
There is nothing wrong with my sense of humour when it doesn't involve undermining my basic human rights and invalidate my freedom of choice.
Same for most people I would imagine.
Actually I prefer the Simpsons to South Park but I bet the average American family would be offended too if they thought this show was taken seriously by many people as a true dipiction of them. It obviously isn't indended. Not so obvious with the intentions of the South Park writers.

The only people who are mad are the Scientologists, and since they have a little bit of pull in Hollywood, they managed to get the episode pulled for a while.

And if you think that Christians haven't rallied against South Park, you're mistaken.

In December 2005, the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights protested the season finale episode, "Bloody Mary,” for its depiction of a statue of the Virgin Mary bleeding from her rectum.

In February 2006 in the Philippines, authorities threatened to ban the showing of South Park on television as it offends the sensibilities of the predominantly Roman Catholic country.

Everyone isn't pissed. I'm not pissed. I thought it was awesome.

It isn't true that no one cares when xtians are being laughed at, a whole big bunch of xtinas care. I don't. I thought those episodes were funny too. (Christian Rock Hard for example.)

I'm an atheist, and I thought the recent "GO GOD GO!" episodes were funny, even though Richard Dawkins is as close a thing to a hero I have.

Some people can laugh at themselves, some can't. The ones who can't stomp and scream and get a lot of attention. So sometimes it seems like they are the only viewpoint out there. They are not.

I don't really get it, south park make's fun of evreyone, evrey group and all sorts of people, heck they even make fun of them selves. But you are right the Scientology epidsod really brought up an uproar, manley because Tom Cruise threatened not to finish Mission Impossible Three. This brought alot of attention to the episoid and scientoligish (witch more of a culd than a religon/healing thing to me). As you now the epidsod did not really mock the religion-the religion mocks it self, it was simpley makeing people aware of what scientoligest belive. At the end of the epiods they shouled Jesuse pooping on evrey one, and no christion really cared. My advice is if you cant make fun of your self, or if you are eaisly offended, then dont watch south park.

Scientologists employ vast armies of lawyers dedicated to harassing and intimidating anyone who criticizes the "religion". In fact, all of their religious literature is protected by copyright.

They also conduct "audits" with new members, which are essentially unlicensed therapy sessions during which they break down the new member and make them reveal potentially damaging secrets. The most prevalent use of this is in men who reveal that they are closeted homosexuals; the Scientologists have a history of using this information as blackmail, particularly with celebrities.

They have no sense of humor because they can't afford to; the story of their religion is already so silly that they have to make sure it looks respectable in the community in general, of they will lose their enormous money-making potential. They are vicious with those who leave the group, and in fact there have been criminal charges filed against them (and criminal cases successfully prosecuted against the group) in Spain, Germany and Japan. I believe the group is not permitted to even exist in those countries.

Alot of scientologists in Hollywood. So I guess it hit home,I think it's great anytime that someone makes fun of all these ancient myths, and new cults that people base their lives around. At least if you're not trying to be obviously offensive the Jewish people seem to be able to have a sense of humor about some of the hits they take. In fact some of the best jokes about Jewish people I heard from Jewish people, why is everyone else so sensitive?

Well you see my friend, and this may come as a shock to you, but some people in this world.....well.........they're self-righteous *******. I know! I know! Right now you're gasping and saying "NO WAY!" But it's true... some people just can't laugh at themselves. No matter what they're so self-absorbed and self-conscience that they just can't take a joke. But then on the other hand when your Religion is a joke, how can you not take it that way? But I digress, what is normal for religion? As Shakespeare said, "All the world is queer my dear, except for thee and I. And sometimes I do wonder about thee." lol

I thought it was VERY funny!!!!!!!!

You would think that anyone who follows a "Religion" started by a science fiction writer would have to have a sence of humor.

There is a very funny web-site about Scientology, it is operation clam bake or something like that, Google it, I thought it was a joke, turns out those ARE their beliefs!

Peace!
